Plamen Kumpikov is a Bulgarian opera singer (bass). His operatic repertoire has been developed for more than 12 years: Plamen Kumpikov has roles in most of the popular operas by Bizet, Donizetti, Monteverdi, Verdi (“Aida”, Ramfis / King of Egypt; “Il Trovatore”, Ferrando; “Nabucco”, Zaccaria; “Rigoletto”, Sparafucile; “La Traviata”, Dottore Grenvil; “Macbeth”, Roul Banco; Requiem), Rossini; W.A. Mozart (“Don Giovanni”, Il Commendatore; „Die Zauberflöte“, Sarastro), B.Britten, S.Moniuszko, M.Mussogorsky (“Boris Godunov”), J. Offenbach( „Les contes d'Hoffmann“, Lindorf / Coppelius); S. Prokofiev (“Il Giocatore (Igrok’)”, Potapych), Pergolesi (Uberto "La serva padrona"), Rossini "Stabat Mater" up to modern performances: 2015 Plamen Kumpikov sings at the World Premier of Bozhidar Spassov: “Der Verzauberte”: 2015, Plovdiv, Bulgaria; Conductor Dragomir Yosifov.
Plamen Kumpikov is a soloist of State Opera – Plovdiv and State Opera – Stara Zagora. In 2015 he participates at “Herrenchiemsee Festspiele”, Germany. In season 2012/ 2013 the Bulgarian bass is a soloist at Opera Wroclawska, Poland. Plamen Kumpikov has worked with the National Opera and Ballet, Sofia, Bulgaria; “Teatro Alla Scala”, Milan, Italy; State Opera – Berlin, Germany, Teatro Lirico Sperimentale di Spoleto “A. Belli”, Italy; “La Compagnia D’Opera Italiana di Milano”, Italy; “Teatro del Complesso di S.Nicolo” – Spoleto, Italy; Teatro “Morlacci”, Perugia, Italy.

After his master’s degree in opera singing at the National Music Academy  “Prof. Pantcho Vladigerov”, Sofia, Bulgaria (the class of Prof. Asen Selimski), Plamen Kumpikov goes to the Bulgarian academy for art and culture “Boriss Christoff”, Italy, with stipendium of “Franca De Renzis Christoff” and teachers: Mirella Peruto, Antonio Bouie. The bass takes master classes from Raina Kabaivanska and Renato Bruson.

Plamen Kumpikov has worked with Maestro Daniel Barenboim, Ljubka Biagioni, Maestro Emil Tabakov, Maestro Dian Tchobanov, Maestro Luciano di Martino, Maestro Nayden Todorov, Svetlana Ivanova (soprano), Tanya Ivanova (soprano), Evgeniya Raltcheva (soprano), Ivaylo Mihaylov (tenore), Orlin Anastasov (bass), Vera Gerginova, Mariyana Panova, Ventseslav Anastasov, Stoyan Daskalov, Petar Danailov etc.
